Our Sweet Almond oil is extracted through virgin cold pressing of ripe organic nut kernels from southern Italy and Sicily. This unrefined oil is a popular base oil in cosmetics due to its low comedogenic rating. Compared to California almonds, the almonds from Italy are considered of premium quality because of their thicker shells and higher oil content.
Sweet Almond virgin cold pressed oil is an excellent emollient that softens and soothes the skin. It helps balance the loss and absorption of moisture, promoting a clear complexion. It is highly recommended for use with eczema and dermatitis, and in massage blends to relieve muscular aches and pains. Moreover, it is a great moisturizer suitable for all skin types and helps relieve irritation, inflammation, and itchy skin.
Sweet Almond oil is perfect for massage because of its high lubrication and massage glide. It is not quickly absorbed, providing ample time to work on tense muscles. However, it has a moderately low shelf life, so it's suggested to extend its longevity by adding 10% Jojoba oil.
Contraindications: Nut Allergy - This virgin (unrefined) Almond oil is not recommend for those with a tree nut allergy as this oil contains seed allergens.
