At last, pourable Benzoin essential oil! This unique oil is from an extraordinary extraction technique combining molecular and fractional distillation. The rich, creamy, balsamic, almond vanilla-like heart notes of Benzoin are cherished by perfumers.
Use Benzoin essential oil, common name Benzoin Siam, to impart a vanilla aroma similar to, but certainly not equal to, our pure
Vanilla Bourbon Co2. Because Benzoin blends well with practically every scent we shortened our ‘Blends well with’ list to just include our favorites.
We are delighted to introduce our new Benzoin essential oil, which is now available in a pourable form. Our Benzoin essential oil distiller uses a unique technique called Fractional Separation to extract the oil in different stages, which are then reassembled using Molecular (greater than high vacuum) distillation. The result is a thick, luxurious oil that is pourable, and free from any solvents or additives. This is the purest form of Benzoin available, with a natural aroma and a wealth of benefits. Traditionally, Benzoin is extracted from resin using solvents and is usually available as a solid to semi-solid Absolute. Our pourable essential oil is a game changer, making it easier and more convenient to use Benzoin in a variety of applications.
Due to its alcohol-soluble nature, Benzoin doesn't blend well with carrier oil on its own. For optimal results, we suggest blending it first with organic alcohol that will help to facilitate the blending process. This will ensure that you get a smooth and consistent blend, making it easier to use in your desired application. Because of all the licensing and additional taxes surrounding this type of product we do not offer it here but are happy to recommend
Alchemical Solutions as an excellent source for organic grape and sugar cane alcohols. Alternatively, high-proof alcohol such as Vodka can be used.
To avoid any sensitization issues, as mentioned in the Contraindications section below, we suggest using Benzoin as a cost-effective replacement for our valuable Vanilla Co2 Total extract, given their similarity in aroma. However, it is important to note that Benzoin's thick syrupy consistency may damage electric diffusers, so we do not recommend using it in such machines.
