Our customers have been requesting a Carnation Absolute from us for years. However, we were not able to find one that met our high standards until now. We tested many samples, but all of them had heavy clove notes that greatly overpowered the floral notes. It turned out that these samples were adulterated with high levels of eugenol. Eugenol is present in high amounts in clove bud absolute and essential oil, and this is probably why the samples had such strong clove-like notes. Carnation Absolute contains eugenol, but in a much smaller amount, as that is where its spicy note comes from.
Our Carnation Absolute has beautiful floral notes that become more apparent after dilution. We have pre-mixed it with organic Jojoba to create a 10% dilution, making it more affordable. This 10% dilution can even withstand a further 5% dilution if you prefer. According to Steffen Arctander, the author of Perfume and Flavor Materials of Natural Origin, Carnation Absolute is a viscous liquid with a honey-like, herbaceous, heavy and tenacious fragrance. It is reminiscent of the odor of the live flowers, but only in high dilutions of 5% or weaker.
Our Carnation Absolute is sourced from Egypt and produced from organic grown all pink colored Dianthus caryophyllus L. flowers. It has a slightly spicy and herbaceous aroma with high warm floral and sweet honey notes that are very tenacious. Although it still has clove-like notes, which are expected in all carnation absolutes, they are in the background in this exquisite specimen of carnation. We have tried many carnation absolutes, but this one represents everything we sought. You will not be disappointed with this extraordinary specimen.
Carnation Absolute is highly valued by perfumers for its ability to add warm, spicy floral nuances to floral fragrances. Although it is not used in aromatherapy, some aromatherapy experts suggest that it can be used to comfort and promote feelings of joy, which can be useful for conditions of anxiety.
