Our Cistus essential oil, also known as Rock Rose, is derived from the steam distillation of the stems and leaves of Cistus ladaniferus, a flowering shrub that is native to the Mediterranean region. This versatile plant is also used to produce other valuable products such as Labdanum Absolute and Cistus Absolute.
Labdanum Absolute is obtained by using solvents to extract a resin that is collected from the plant's leaves and stems. This resin has been used for centuries for its therapeutic and cosmetic properties. It has a rich, warm, and resinous aroma that is often used as a base note in perfumes and other fragrances.
Cistus Absolute, on the other hand, is extracted by using solvents to extract the plant's flowering tops. This absolute has a deep, amber color and a complex aroma that is both sweet and earthy. It is often used in aromatherapy to promote relaxation and relieve stress.
