Ravensara is an essential oil that is distilled from the leaves of Agathophyllum aromatica syn Ravensara aromatica from Madagascar and is highly regarded for its aroma-therapeutic properties and antiviral effects. Ravensara is particularly beneficial for respiratory conditions and flu, as it helps to ease symptoms and boost the immune system.
In addition to its respiratory benefits, Ravensara is also used topically to address viral skin problems such as shingles and herpes. When combined with Calophyllum Inophyllum (also known as Tamanu or
Foraha) carrier oil, Ravensara is considered a helpful aid in the treatment of shingles. This blend can be applied directly to the affected area to help ease discomfort and promote healing.
Ravensara is a must-have essential oil during the winter season when flu is prevalent. It can be used in a variety of ways, such as diffusing, steam inhalation, room spray, or chest rub, to help boost the immune system and provide relief from symptoms.
If you prefer to create your own topical blends, Foraha (Tamanu) base oil is a convenient option. This carrier oil can be combined with Ravensara to create a potent aid for shingles or used on its own to nourish and moisturize the skin.
